  • Hi my name is John Mateo and I am 9 years old. Marcy came to my 5th birthday party and bought me a gift card for Toys R US. I still have the birthday card she gave me......She is so cool and played games with me in my room. Her mom and dad our cool too! When my mom told me what happened to my friend Marcy I wanted to write something. I think its cool that she took the time and came into my room and played with me...not everyone does that. Thinking of you today Marcy - love your friend Little John Mateo

  • Dear Marcy:
I want everyone to know that with your passing I lost a very good friend. You were my niece, but more importantly you deeply trusted me and were my friend.

I first met you when you were only a few days old. You were like most babies to an 18 year old young man...pink, soft, beautiful, and you made me so afraid that I would break you.

We really got to know each other when you were just a little tyke. Your mom and dad would sometimes allow me to take you to the Dairy Queen for an ice cream. You so loved going for ice cream and you helped me break the ice with some of the girls hanging out at the Diary Queen. Some of the other guys would show off their new car or even bring a puppy to get the girls' attention. Me...I had it made. Marcy you were without a doubt the best "chick magnet" that I ever had. They just couldn't resit you.

One of the fondest memories I have is your love of animals. I think you loved them because they were not complex, appreciated your loving attention, and they agreed with everything you said.

I wish that things could be different. I wish that I could hear your laugh or watch your eyes get narrow and your voice get strong over some indignity that was being done to others. You cared intensly for those that you loved ...man and animal alike. You loved your Papa so very much. Say hello to him and know that I miss you both everyday.

I don't know why tragedies fall upon nice people. You and I could have one of our super long discussions and I would still not have the answers.

I do know that you should be proud of the many people that undertook to bring you home. You know the faith that your mom and dad had and the many roads they took to find you. Now we can settle in to revisiting the memories we all have of you. Visting them time and time again.

Somewhere over the rainbow we will meet and talk again. I love and miss you so much.

    Uncle Bob
