Shasta with a twist

Adding to the annual Shasta/Memorial Day weekend girls-only trip, in 2007 we decided to mix it up and went whitewater rafting down the American River. We chanted “PURA VIDA” (an expression we learned from our Costa Rican rafting guides – translated: “Pure Life” or “Full of Life”) every opportunity we got. It won’t be the same trip without Heather, but she will always be with us in spirit.
