I refuse to be unhappy!
by Claudia Kilbreath
For the past thirteen years, we have been blessed with David and Angie's friendship. It is impossible to think of one without the other. They are truly a match made in heaven. Over the years, we have celebrated many birthdays, holidays, births, and marriage. We have truly enjoyed and cherished every moment with David and Angie: talking about our kids, laughing, joking around, sometimes drinking way too much, discussing matters serious or benign, just enjoying life and all of its moments. David had such immense generosity - donating to everyone's philanthropic cause even if it was not his own and always thinking of others. His smile was infectious and when he walked into a room, it lit up. David was always the first to say: "how are YOU?" no matter what was going on in his own life. Even when faced with the most harrowing of life's challenges, David never complained and always had a smile and a witty or warm remark. David was not afraid to speak his mind, and we loved that about him. His willingness to state his opinions flat out always made us laugh. When discussing his health, David would often say: "I refuse to be unhappy." That just summed David up. He made the choice to live his life in a way that has forever and indelibly impacted everyone who knew him. In the end, David's legacy is not only who he was on this earth, but the people he left behind. Angie, Kelsey, and Malia, we love you so much and will have many more wonderul memories to share. David, we love you and will miss you intensely. You are truly the best friend we could have ever had. We will never forget you. See you in heaven. Love, Ken and Claudia Kilbreath
