My little brother
by Carolyn Osborne
David you were not just my little brother. As the years went along you became the man that I looked up to. The man that I have said, “if I could meet someone like you I would marry them” (not in a creepy way, just because the amazing man and husband that you have always been). I could talk to you and ask you for advice and I felt like I was asking this guru of sorts.
I will always remember your hilarious humor……so quick witted and sharp tongued. I remember when you were little and mom would be at work at night and even though you should have been in bed you were down watching Saturday Night Live. Back when Eddie Murphy wasn’t anyone yet. “Come watch this guy, he’s so funny” as you wake me up out of my bed. It was like you had a photographic memory of everything you saw or heard. And for weeks we would be blessed with every sketch you watched on that show. And then you started up your own routines. Way better than any comedic writer could come up with.
You were the best brother; the closest to a Dad that Anjelica ever had; a good son; and amazing husband, father and friend. Thank-you for touching all of us. Several people have contacted me and had so many wonderful things to say. Some had actually never met you but had seen you many times and because of everything that they have heard and known that you have done and accomplished in your life, they felt like they were being passed by this famous person or movie star. Yes my brother……FAMOUS. That would be you!
I will miss the emails and phone calls. However I am looking forward to the many visits that you have promised me. Stop by soon and often. I love you with all my heart. Carolyn
