Valentine's Day
by Jolene Maughn
Of all the memories I have of David, my most favorite is Valentine's Day 2006. First I have to start out by saying my guy who is a wonderful husband, father, friend etc. is what I call Valentine's Day challenged. I know this I accept this it is what it is. On Valentine's Day of 2006 I get a call from David asking me if I was excited. I told him no not really why? He just said be ready at such and such a time dress casual nice. Okay, whatever you say. Next thing I knew David is at the door. Let's go he says. Of course I wanted to know where we were going and why I was the only one in the car. He just told me to stop asking because he wasn't going to tell me. When we got to his house a stretch limo was waiting out in front. Get in he said. I certainly wasn't going to argue about that. When I got in there were 2 more girlfriends champagne and chocolate. The limo took us to GHHS where we picked Angie up (with a smile on her face of course). She got in and off we went. David had left detailed instructions on paper of how our night was going to pan out. It was heaven!!! Everything a girl could ask for it involved girlfriends , spa treatments, coffee from Nordstroms bar while we waited for our massages and shopping. Then back into the limo for what else but a lobster dinner with all our guys. We had a great time, good company great wine of course an amazing dinner by David and even roses when we left. Not to mention he took care of all the child care arrangements for our kids. Who else but David could have pulled that off! David is a wonderful guy, a very dear friend and the best Valentine's Day planner ever! I will miss you.
