Save the date February 7th 2009 to attend

The Comedy Cures... don't let cancer have the last laugh VIP dinner / auction.

This will take place at the Hotel Murano in Tacoma, and invitations will be mailed out in December.  The VIP dinner is part of my senior project to help raise $250,000.00 to name the St. Anthony's Oncology center lobby in honor of my dad, David Osborne.

The event will feature a small auction of 5 or so AMAZING items,a formal sit down dinner, lots of wine,  a guest speaker, a short presentation by me on why this is an important legacy for my family,  and basically a memorable evening celebrating family, friends, community members and life.

The dinner will be limited to 150 people ~  tickets will be $200 each. (I will work to make sure the evening surpasses your expectations for a $200 donation!!)

If you want to make sure you receive an inviation you can email me at:

comedycures@comcast.net

I will also be selling raffle tickets...... the winner of the raffle will receive 2 front row seats to see Jeff Dunham in concert (location to be determined), first class airfare for two to the event, hotel accomodations, and limo transportation to and from the comedy show.  The winning raffle ticket will be drawn at the VIP  dinner on February 7th 2009.  The raffle tickets will be $25 each.

I will be sending out a letter explaining how you can purhase raffle tickets in the next couple of weeks.  There will also be the opportunity to purchase sweatshirts or t-shirts with my logo on the front and all of the major sponsors of Comedy Cures on the back.  If you are interested in sponsoring on some level send me an email and I will be in touch.

Thanks to everyone for helping make this project a reality!!   When I walk into the hospital and see my dad's name on the lobby wall..... it will be a great day!

Below is a portion of the letter I  sent out to several of you explaining my project a little and why the lobby is so perfect to represent my dad....  David Osborne

My name is Kelsey Osborne and David Osborne was my daddy. If you are receiving this letter today then you were a significant person in the life of my dad and you continue to play a huge role in the life of my family.   I am a senior at Gig Harbor High School this year. For my senior project, I am doing everything in my power to raise $250,000.00, to name the Oncology Center Lobby of the New St. Anthony’s Hospital in honor of my dad, David E. Osborne.

As you know, my dad never gave up when he was told he had terminal cancer 6 years ago.   Just like him, I won’t give up until I can walk into Gig Harbors very own St. Anthony’s Hospital, enter the Jane Russell Oncology Center and see that I have arrived at the David E. Osborne Oncology Lobby.

My dad was the ultimate host during any gathering. Parties at our house, boating trips, golfing trips, fishing trips, holiday gatherings and the list goes on. No matter what the event, David (my dad) always made a point to talk to each and every person. He made sure everyone was properly introduced, everyone had a beverage of their choosing and most importantly everyone felt properly welcomed.

His name on the Lobby is a perfect tribute to a man who lived his life with purpose, passion and looking out for others comfort. That being said, I would like to ask you to join me in my pursuit of placing David’s name on the Oncology center Lobby. All funds raised by my project will go directly to the Oncology center at St. Anthony’s and provide the naming opportunity.

Thank you to everyone for their continued support and love!
