Full Circle, again...

Dear Friends of Annie,

Well, it's hard to believe it's been 2 years since I posted about being at the Medicine Wheel, to witness the solstice sun drop below the horizon.  It had been 9 months since Annie died, so unexpectedly, so needlessly. And now two full years have passed without that dear woman to  support, love, and comfort all of her friends and family.  I go out to the Wheel again tomorrow, as the giant Clock in the Sky ticks another year off my own life.  I still miss her, but not in the crippling, heartbroken way of the past.  I can remember her now without that level of pain, and I'm not sure I like being that way, but there it is.

This website is for Ann, not me, but it seems right to me to acknowledge here what many of you already know.  I am going to  marry a childhood friend, Nancy Casado, this spring.  My hope is that all of Ann's loved ones will understand;  I am confident that Ann certainly would.  This is how I understand it;  the love we hold for others is not a zero-sum game, and the love we continue to hold for Ann does not diminish our ability to love others.  I look forward to striving to be a decent husband, using all the wisdom that Ann taught me, gentle and honest wife that she was.
